History
Dalhousie Polygraph Services was started by Donald Ramsey after his retirement from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and has been in its present location since 2002. The business has grown steadily since then and became incorporated in 2005. During the first few years the business consited of Mr. Ramsey. In 2005, a second polygraph examiner was hired on. In 2007, Stacy Shortes became part of the Dalhousie Polygraph team and in 2008, Jennifer Armstrong joined. During the last twelve months the business has conducted more than 1500 polygraph examinations.
Initially, the business did pre-employment polygraph assessments for several police and fire departments in the Dallas metropolitan area. Currently, we do the pre-employment polygraph examinations and some criminal testing for many police and fire departments throughout Texas. In pre-employment assessments, the business is closely linked with John Lehman, Ph.D. & Associates, who provide psychologial assessments for police and fire applicants, as well as other psychological services. We have conducted criminal testing for police departments, sheriff's offices and various criminal defense and civil attorneys. We continue to conduct post conviction sexual offender polygraph testing for several area counties and Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Providers.
History of the Name
The Dalhousie name comes from Dalhousie Castle, an ancestral castle of Clan Ramsay. Dalhousie Castle was built over 700 years ago by the Ramsays of Dalhousie and among its unique qualities is the fact that it has remained in the possession of one family longer than any other castle in Scotland. Dalhousie Castle has a fascinating and colorful history. It has been the destination of kings, queens and soldiers alike. And with Sir Alexander Ramsay manning its walls, it withstood a six month siege led by King Henry IV of England in 1400. Dalhousie Castle can be seen in the banner above and the crest to the left is the Clan Ramsay crest that reads, "Pray and Work".
